PERSONAL DOCUMENTS

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION THOROUGHLY AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU FULFILL ALL THE REQUIREMENTS ESTABLISHED BY LAW, TO AVOID ANY DELAY IN THE PROCESS.

 

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:

- Please note that it is strictly prohibited to call on the Emergency number of the Consulate for legalization queries, as it is exclusively reserved only for Argentine citizens in distress.

- Also note that phone calls or personal visits to the Consulate without an appointment are not permitted.

- Documents submitted for legalization must be accompanied by one request letter mentioning the details of the documents to be legalized and authorizing (if applicable) a family member to submit on behalf of the applicant.

- Documents (such as Birth Certificates, Death Certificates, Marriage Certificates, PCC) to be legalized at the consulate must first be attested by the corresponding authorities of country of origin and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

- Under normal circumstances, documents are processed within 3 working days, if submitted personally or through an agent. However, under special circumstances or increase in the volume of legalizations required, the process can extend beyond 3 working days.

- For residents of India, this Consulate ONLY accepts bank deposits in INR at the current USD – INR conversion of the day established by this Consular Section.

- For residents of Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal or Sri Lanka can courier their documents to the Embassy and make wire transfer for fees (in those cases, USD -INR remittance charges charged by Banks).

- On the last business day of each month, documents are not received for legalization/vistos.

- When withdrawing the documentation from the Embassy, ​​the person who picks it up must sign a receipt of the documents. Subsequent claims will not be accepted.

 

LEGALIZATION PROCESS:

1) Please email all the documents for verification (secon_eindi@mrecic.gov.ar)

2) On finishing the verification process, we shall give an appointment to submit the ORIGINAL documents. Documents SHOULD NOT be stapled or punched. Please use U pins instead. Also, back-to-back printouts of any document, WILL NOT be accepted

Payment details will be shared on email before the date of appointment. Please note that the payment of the legalization fee is mandatory in order to initiate the process that includes verification of documents and legalizarion. If the legalization does not proceed, refund is not applicable.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

1) Application Form (available below) for Certification duly filled and signed by the applicant. All questions must be answered. The request will not be accepted if this requirement is not fulfilled. For minor applicants under the age of 18, an original letter of authorization from both parents is mandatory to request the legalization. If relative of the applicant is living in Argentina they must present their documents along with the rest of documentation.

2) Along with the ORIGINAL documents, a copy of the applicant's passport and a copy of the National Identity of the Authorized Person must be submitted.
